step two- living room!

paint the living room!

we decided to start our big projects by painting the living room as it was one of the biggest rooms and over memorial day weekend we knew we'd have lots of help.  this would also allow us to at least put one room together that we could "live" in and i figured that might help with some of the craziness that was destined to come with all the moving, painting, redecorating etc that we were up against.

here is a "before" picture of the living room.  this room is directly in front of the front door and it's what you see when you walk in.

not too shabby right?  too bad i hate that beige wall.....

i love looking at pictures of rooms, to see color combinations, layouts...everything.  i was searching thru some on HGTV and I quickly found one that not only i liked, but andy did as well (he is sometimes hard to please!)   so here was my inspiration......

now the final project isn't quite done, but i was told i should do "in progress pictures" so here's what we have so far....

we have the curtain rod and the purple fabric for the bottom of the curtains.  to complete the room, i still need the taupe/gray fabric for the top of the curtains, a purple throw, a sofa table (for the right wall) a few more picture frames (for the right wall) and maybe an accent chair of some sort for the front right hand corner.

one thing i like most about other's blogs is knowing where they got what they've got, just in case i need to have it.... so here's where things came from..
